Why did the venue change from RFK Stadium to Bowie Baysox Stadium?
While we wanted to have ChapterFest at RFK, this would have been their first time hosting an event of this type. A few of their concerns came with requests that would have made having ChapterFest cost prohibitive. We will invite their staff to this year's event so they will be able to see how we operate our event. After ChapterFest we will begin talking with RFK about hosting ChapterFest 2011!!! -
How will the venue change affect the overall ChapterFest experience?
The experience of ChapterFest will remain unchanged. All activities will still proceed as scheduled. -
Why such a late date in October?
It was the only date left that did not conflict with other National Capital Chapter programs, SCCA events, CDC autocross. -

What will set this year's event apart from previous years?
In years past we have only had autocross and a small concours competition. This year we will have autocross, Street Survival - teen driving school; karting, concours, DIY tech sessions and regular DIY, an area to wash your car (we provide the hoses and water, you provide bucket and soap). We are also bringing in tables, chairs and tents for lunch. Guys, I'm sure our significant others will be elated about the dedicated women's restrooms with flushable toilets and sinks. -
Are the BendPak lifts available for purchase?
BendPak, the car lift manufacturer, is donating the use of lifts for the DIYs. These are the same lifts you see at the indy shops and dealers. After the event is over you will be able to purchase the the lifts. If you live within a reasonable distance we can help with delivery of the lift to you for the cost of gas and mileage. Email diy@chapterfest.com for more details. -
Why the slight increase in price over previous ChapterFests?
Last year we had 550 people. This year we are expecting 750 people. With additional capacity we need to bring in safety equipment plus the cost of the tables, chairs and restroom. As we are a non-profit organization, we plan to donate all proceeds after expenses to The Fisher House www.fisherhouse.org and National Military Family Association www.militaryfamily.org -
